Air fryers worth considering in Malaysia 2026
Five current models for different household sizes, from a simple 4.2L basket to dual-zone and steam models. We compare official capacity, functions, footprint, price and the trade-offs that matter in a Malaysian kitchen.

An air fryer is a compact convection oven. The useful question is not whether one model has more presets, but whether its basket holds the food you actually cook, fits your counter and is easy to clean.
Our shortlist spans current official Malaysian ranges. Sale prices below were displayed on brand websites on 7 September 2026; they are a dated snapshot, not a promise of today’s checkout price.

How to choose
Start with the basket
A litre figure is useful for broad comparison, but shape matters. A wide single layer browns more evenly than food piled deep. For a family, check the stated food load and internal basket dimensions rather than relying only on the headline capacity.
Decide between one zone and two
A single basket costs less and is easier to wash. Dual-zone models can run different temperatures and synchronise finishing times, but take more counter width and give you two baskets and plates to clean.
Check heat, cleaning and clearance
Compare the temperature range, dishwasher-safe claims, replacement-part availability, cable position and the ventilation clearance in the manual. Measure under wall cabinets before buying.
Options worth considering
Philips 1000 Series Airfryer 4.2L NA120/09
Best for straightforward everyday cooking
It is a current official Malaysian model with adjustable time and temperature, a compact single basket and deliberately simple controls.
- 4.2L single basket
- Adjustable time and temperature
- Philips lists 12 cooking methods
- HomeID recipe-app support
Consider before buying: There is only one cooking zone and the official product page did not display a direct RM selling price when checked.
Electrolux UltimateTaste 500 5L E5AF1-600P
Best for a lower-cost current family model
The official Malaysian store listed a 5L basket, preset programmes, reheat and keep-warm functions at the lowest displayed price in this shortlist.
- 5L capacity
- AirFry, Reheat and Keep Warm functions
- Preset programmes
- Official Malaysian online store and warranty support
Consider before buying: The RM299 figure was a promotional price; the same page showed RM579 before discount.
Ninja Air Fryer Max AF160SM
Best for a higher-temperature single-basket model
Its official Malaysian page publishes unusually complete specifications, including 5.2L capacity, 1,750W input and a 40–240°C range.
- 5.2L basket; stated 1.4kg fries capacity
- Six functions
- 1,750W
- Dishwasher-safe components
- 37.5 × 27.5 × 33.5cm
Consider before buying: It is a sizeable, relatively heavy single basket and the brand lists a one-year warranty.
Ninja Foodi Dual Zone AF300SM
Best for cooking two foods independently
Two independent 3.8L drawers can use different programmes, while Sync can align finishing times and Match can duplicate settings.
- 7.6L total across two 3.8L drawers
- Six functions
- Sync and Match controls
- 40–240°C range
- 32 × 39 × 36cm
Consider before buying: It occupies more counter area, weighs 8.26kg and creates more parts to wash than a single-basket model.
Electrolux UltimateTaste 700 6.9L E7AF1-700P
Best for buyers who specifically want steam cooking
It combines a large single basket with Steam, AirFry and Dehydrate modes on an official Malaysian product page.
- 6.9L capacity
- Steam function
- AirFry and Dehydrate modes
- Official Malaysian online purchase and delivery
Consider before buying: Steam adds cleaning and maintenance steps; decide whether you will use it often enough to justify the higher cost.

Costs & ongoing fees
Purchase price is only part of the cost. Check the price and availability of replacement baskets, crisper plates and other removable parts. Non-stick coatings wear faster if scrubbed with metal utensils.
Electricity use depends on wattage and time. A 1.75kW model running at full rated input for 20 minutes would use about 0.58kWh before thermostat cycling; multiply actual kWh by the applicable components on your electricity bill.
Common questions
- Is a dual-zone air fryer automatically better?
- No. It is useful when you regularly cook two items at different settings. A single wide basket is simpler, cheaper and can be better for one larger item.
- Can the basket go in a dishwasher?
- Only if the manufacturer says so for that exact basket and plate. Even then, gentle hand-washing can reduce wear on a non-stick coating.
- Does an air fryer replace an oven?
- It can replace an oven for small portions and reheating, but basket shape limits trays, baking tins and large dishes.
